Free Fantasy Football Draft Strategies:
Having won fantasy football championships in multiple leagues, I have begun to see a transition in the NFL that can not be ignored on the day of your fantasy football draft.
The old days of heavily weighing your draft strategy around Running Backs has come to an end.
The league has adapted far too many systems that are leveraging a Running Back By Committee (RBBC) offense.
This greatly depreciates the value of many of the Running Backs available on the board come Fantasy Draft day.
Unless you are able to snag yourself a top 5 selection in the fantasy draft, there is just more value in drafting one of the premiere (top 3) Wide Receivers or Quarterbacks.
It is much more beneficial to your fantasy team to draft someone that will consistently earn you points.
The introduction of goal-line backs have robbed the previously prestigious fantasy value of an NFL running back.
Drafting a Quarterback:
Unless you find yourself in a position to pick up one of the top tier players (Drew Brees, Payton Manning, or Tom Brady) you are better served using your first 3 picks with 2 quality Wide Receivers and a running back.
Since most fantasy leagues require you to start 3 receivers, it is often beneficial to pad your fantasy roster with NFL players in the number one receiver role.
Be sure not to dictate which players you don't chose based upon which team they play for.
Teams that are often coming from behind have to pass more to have a chance to win, so a struggling offense may earn you more points for receptions and yards than a team that will simply run the clock out after halftime.
Don't be fooled by the labels. Much like buying store brand peanut butter, you can grab an excellent player slightly outside of the spotlight.
An excellent example of this is Arron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers. Statistically he has been the man, however he was not born under the Manning name therefore is quickly overlooked by the media.

Fantasy Draft: Don't be that Guy!
In every fantasy football draft there is someone who makes the bonehead move of the draft.
Often, you will observe someone drafting a defense within the first 5 rounds.
DO NOT be that guy!
You can grab your favorite defense AFTER you have created some foundation to your roster.
Be sure to check the NFL player injury report before your draft starts.
You don't want to draft someone that is in prison, dancing with the stars, off living in a tent, or just broke his leg.
