Free Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Tight Ends

Unless Favre decides to retire, which is doubtful, it would be in your best interest to consider Shiancoe as a draft day steal. He is listed far enough down the list that you can get great value with picking him in the second phase of tight ends.

I also really like Dustin Keller from the New York Jets as a fantasy draft sleeper. Grab some two more insurance players for the foundation of your fantasy football lineup, and than grab DK.

Rank #     QUARTERBACKS     RUNNING BACKS     WIDE RECIEVERS     TIGHT ENDS     KICKERS
1 Antionio Gates     San Diego Chargers
He is more of an extra reciever with the amount of times he gets the ball. Great TE if you can get him.
2 Dallas Clark     Indianapolis Colts
This guy killed us in the AFC championship game last season. Peyton Manning loves stretching the defense than hitting Clark over the middle.
3 Vernon Davis     San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers offense has been showing signs of life again. Gore establishing the running game will help get some over the middle and screen passes to their star TE.
4 Brent Celek     Philadelphia Eagles
If the Eagles new QB can build on his 2009 success, Celek will have a great Fantasy season.
5 Tony Gonzalez     Atlanta Falcons
Tony G is always a solid TE option. Now another year work with Matt Ryan, I should take yet another step forward.
6 Jermichael Finley     Green Bay Packers
Green Bay's offense is going to be explosive this season, and Finley will become a star thanks to Aaron Rodgers.
7 Jason Witten     Dallas Cowboys
Witten had 94 receptions last year and is expected to have similiar results in this season. He loses some redzone looks, because he is so valuable in pass protection.
8 Owen Daniels     Houston Texans
Coming off a torn ACL, he should be back to game form by the start of the regular season.
9 Visanthe Shiancoe     Minnesota Vikings
I am really high on this guy! He was a star last season with Favre, and his training routine this off-season was very impressive.
10 Chris Cooley     Washington Redskins
Should get a ton of attention from McNabb. His is predicted to pull in 80 receptions in 2010.
11 Kellen Winslow     Tampa Bay Buccaneers
If he can stay healthy, he should pull in somewhere in the range of 75 receptions this season.
12 Zach Miller     Oakland Raiders
Listed as a Fantasy Football sleeper, Miller should be good for 75 or so receptions in the 2010 season.
13 Greg Olsen     Chicago Bears
The introduction of Mike Martz may decrease productivity at the TE position, since he his known for opening up offenses. Olsen may still pull in 50 catches on the season.
14 Heath Miller     Pittsburgh Steelers
His pass protection skills are too valuable to their offense to have him running routes every down. He still could catch 55 balls or so.
15 John Carlson     Seattle Seahawks
Finished up the 2009 strong, grabbing a TD in each of the Seahawk's last 4 games. If he can repeat this consistancy, he may be worth a look come Fantasy football draft day.
16 Kevin Boss     New York Giants
Although he is a great redzone target, his pass protection skills will keep him close to Eli within the 20. He still is a good option at TE, and can pull in 50 receptions.
17 Dustin Keller     New York Jets
DK is a great pass catching TE and a great guy off the field. The Jets new WR additions should help DK get open for often. Be sure to check out his website on our Fantasy Tools page.
18 Jeremy Shockey     New Orleans Saints
There are some durability concerns with Shockey. Although his TV commercials are very funny, he gets little love near the redzone. He is predicted to have 50 or so receptions.
19 Marcedes Lewis     Jacksonville Jaguars
Lewis has to compete with Miller to receptions, plus he is a valuable in pass protection. ESPN predicts he will pull in 35 receptions and 3 TDs.
20 Benjamin Watson     Cleveland Browns
Suitable for a bye week replacement, due to low expectations from a receptions standpoint.
21 Fred Davis     Washington Redskins
Davis could benefit from McNabb joining the Redskins. He showed talent last season, we expect him to pull in 50 or so receptions.
22 Tony Scheffler     Detroit Lions
Not a huge factor from a fantasy football perspective. Although with a young QB the TE is always a safety valve for getting rid of the ball.
23 Todd Heap     Baltimore Ravens
Once considered a valued fantasy football player, Heap's stock has dropped like the US economy.
24 Anthony Fasano     Miami Dolphins
Fasano is the NFL equivilant to a one hit wonder. He showed early promise, but has since faded into the depth chart.
25 Bo Scaife     Tennessee Titans
Good TE, but not alot of value from a fantasy football perspective. He doesnt frequent the endzone.
26 Shawn Nelson     Buffalo Bills
Has all the gifts to be a superstar, however he is on Buffalo and their offense lacks consistancy.
27 Brandon Pettigrew     Detroit Lions
Went down with an ACL injury last season, and has little fantasy appeal. Will most likly stay back to provide protection.
28 Jermaine Greshman     Cincinnati Bengals
This guy is AWESOME! He could be a fantasy football superstar. The Bengals have not been a team that leverages their TEs for the passing game, but every indication of the preseason would indicate they have changed their tune.
29 Zach Miller     Jacksonville Jaguars
Showed some play making ability in the final game of 2009, perhaps a good option when MJD needs a rest. We wouldnt suggest him as a fantasy football draft pick.
30 Jared Cook     Tennessee Titans
Not much fantasy football value here. More play making ability than Scaife, but not worth a roster spot.
